Be still my heart. These two. Where do I even begin? It sounds crazy, but I can often tell from the initial email from a bride whether we’re going to be a great fit or not. Leah was no exception! Even through her text I could tell what a warm hearted, kind to the core, innately sweet and gentle human she is. I couldn’t wait to meet her! When I met Josh and Leah for coffee before their engagement session we instantly clicked. I think the first thing we noticed about each other was how all three of us were wearing a top that was the same shade of forest green, so we looked like a little club as we sat in the corner of Caribou. It was the greatest. I took it as a sign that they’re meant to me a JBP couple. haha! Let’s talk about Josh for a minute. I couldn’t believe what a perfect match He is for Leah. First of all,  you can so clearly see how much he values her by the way he looks at her, talks about her, holds her hand…all of it. He is also SO laid back and genuinely kind, I knew we were in for a great time together during their engagements and wedding. I just love them!

They told me their love story and oh my word did it not disappoint! The way the Lord waited until it was the perfect time for both Leah and Josh to be ready to receive such a love in their lives is undoubtedly His working in their story. Leah took a little break from working in the medical field and found the perfect life giving job at The Mustard Seed Boutique attached to Down To Earth. Josh’s niece, Morgan, came in one day while Leah was working and asked for an application to Mustard Seed. Leah actually knew who she was because her daughter knows, loves and looks up to Morgan and talks often of her at home. Leah knew she’d be a good fit at the boutique and put a good word in for her. As they worked together Leah fell in love with Morgan and they formed a relationship all the while not knowing they’d one day be family. Morgan grew closer to Leah and knew that her uncle Josh would just gush over her. She decided she’d play match maker and encourage Josh to come and visit her at work to lay eyes on Leah. At first Josh was hesitant, but after many attempts Morgan convinced him to come grab a coffee. When he finally came in, Leah had no idea he was coming and actually didn’t even see him that day. Josh on the other hand was left in awe. He had never laid eyes on a more beautiful woman. (Okay, tell me this isn’t the cutest story ever.) After that happened, nothing happened. They both carried on living their lives until one day Leah started feeling the nudge to go back to work at the hospital. She began applying for jobs and one hospital in town really loved her and offered her a position. Leah was planning to take the job, but something in her spirit said it wasn’t the one. She turned down the offer and decided to keep looking. After awhile she found the right fit and wouldn’t you know it – her first day on the job who does she pass in the hallway unknowingly? You guessed it…Josh. He knew immediately knew who she was and couldn’t compute why she was suddenly in scrubs at the hospital. The story gets even better though. The line of work they are both in within the hospital requires them to basically work together super often… so. You can imagine where the rest of this story goes…<3 <3 How amazing is that? I just love every bit of it.

We had the BEST time during their engagements session. Deciding to do winter engagements is not for the faint of heart if you want those gorgeous, open field wintery shots due to how much snow we get here in Eau Claire, WI… BUT it’s SO. WORTH. IT. The three of us trekked through the untouched snow to get to the top of  Curvue Tree Farm. They were so down for the adventure and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Their willingness to trust me with my vision for their photos truly meant the world. They braved the cold and looked good doing it. They were absolute naturals behind the camera. Josh was such a champ throughout the whole session. He was just so excited to just be with his stunning fiance it made my job of directing and posing behind the camera incredibly easy.

I cannot wait for their wedding this year. It’s going to be such a wonderful day and I am SO humbled and honored to be apart of it. Here’s to you, Josh and Leah! <3
